M&E Services Project Engineer

Location: Maidenhead

Description:

To take responsibility for the management process of the services installation for a major retail client and police the works on behalf of the client.

The person:

  • Demonstrable experience in successful project engineering
  • Mechanically or electrically qualified
  • Knowledge of contractual issues relating to project work
  • Awareness of health and safety legislation and its implications on the building industry
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to challenge designs and offer innovative solutions
  • Ability to challenge the normal daily routines and processes
  • Ability to offer and advise on innovation and energy initiatives
  • Ability to install confidence but seek assistance when required
  • Good team player
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office
Role/Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with Project Directors and Associates to ensure that he / she fully appreciates the scope of our duties on each project during the phases of the works
  • Liaise with Contractors and Clients during the execution of the project
  • Ensure projects are delivered to the highest technical standards
  • Review drawings, ensuring they are appropriate and comply with the client's brief
  • Anticipate difficulty and propose solutions
  • To undertake visits to sites throughout the UK, to inspect the installations, commissioning and quality
  • To provide while on site or off, support to the clients personnel and their sub-contractors so that the equipment can be installed correctly and efficiently to the relevant drawings
  • To have knowledge of all aspects of mechanical and electrical design and installation
  • To be able to read and understand drawings, be they electrical, mechanical or structural
  • To submit weekly progress reports detailing the work undertaken together with comments / suggestions relevant to improving future installations and identifying outstanding issues from the current contract
  • To work to client and company procedures and protocols and to ensure that they reflect current working practices
  • To undertake any other duties that you are requested to do by management, assuming that these duties are compatible with your status and skill level
  • Monitor the quality control on projects and ensure that the company quality standards are being achieved
  • Work efficiently so as to maximise the profitability of the company
  • Provide support to Engineers within the design groups. Help colleagues and/or group members to find solutions to problems
  • Contribute to a friendly and positive environment within the company
  • To be recognised by the client as an experienced person in their
field and encourage the client to call them when in need of advice
